Abstract study Aircraft, Light on a Blue Ground, 2005
The series was experimenting with mark-making and drawing with light in the unconventional sense of using the film as a document in itself. The light was deconstructed. Photography literally means capturing light.
To that extent one looked to push that by breaking down the application of light transferred onto film to a more granular activity. So that the incidental element of ‘photography’ becomes more of a central element in the composition.
