Shore, 2006, Black and White, Vignette, Liminality, Layering and repetition, subtitles, no audio
Shore 2006, was a short film exploring the nature of liminality and presence via the moving image, repetition and emptiness.
The emptiness seeks to put the viewer in a pensive space and the subject matter and depth of field are used to create a flat image that nonetheless captures a send of slight and subtle movement.
The film has three movements, each one get subtly progressive and layers upon itself, this leitmotif is used to finally show the liminal element of a bird taking flight opening up an expanse and area for further contemplation.
